Chess
Chess makes kids smarter. It does so by teaching the following skills: visualizing, focusing, thinking-ahead, Pre-Algebra (chess notation), logic, analyzing situations, executing plans, and social skills.
Those who compete are eligible for cash prizes, trophies, and college scholarships through chess tournaments.
Allow me to teach chess at your summer camp and watch kids activate their brains!
Please plan for at least 8 hours of chess instruction in order to allow time for all of the basics (chess pieces, moves, checkmates, strategies, tactics, sportsmanship, and vocabulary). I work with 10 students at a time.
